

California Elections Update
We are still waiting for the final results of this year's Congressional election, the midterms. As of now, with the victory of Congressman Jim Costa, and Congressman Eric Swalwell (who recently identified as being of Portuguese ancestry with roots also in Hawaii) and the leading votes held by Congressman David Valadão and candidate John Duarte, we have a possibility of having 4 Portuguese-Americans in Congress from California.

Portuguese-Americans elected in California
The California Portuguese-American Coalition would like to congratulate Congressman Jim Costa for another electoral victory. Congressman Costa has roots in the island of Terceira, Azores, and is a Portuguese-American community friend. The Coalition will be doing an inventory of other races throughout the state and will report on how Americans of Portuguese ancestry have done in this midterm election.
